Lady Gaga Leads List of Top-Earning Female Singers
She was born to be a megastar, apparently. With a staggering $90 million earned in 2011, Lady Gaga made more money than any female singer, by a mile.
Taylor Swift was second with half of that total ... a paltry $45 million.
Katy Perry was right behind Swift with $44 million, while Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna finished off the top five, earning $35 million and $29 million respectively.
Gaga's impressive earnings were mainly due to her tour, which grossed $1.3 million a night, as well the Born This Way singer's many endorsement deals.
The earnings estimates were compiled by Forbes with help from data from Pollstar, RIAA and others, as well as extensive interviews with industry insiders.
The totals encompass all aggregate pre-tax income earned from May 2010-May 2011, before expenses, i.e. subtracting agent and manager fees, and so on.

Lady Gaga Reveals Stunning Sex Secret
Lady Gaga has revealed a sexual secret so shocking, no one could have seen it coming. No, this is not the reincarnation of the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumor.
It's almost as weird, however. Almost.
The singer revealed in a new interview that she used to listen to her parents having sex. Not just once or once in a while, or even occasionally. Like all the time.
Stefani Germanotta spent her formative years listening to her mom and dad have sex because their Upper West Side apartment didn't have any doors, she says.
No doors?
"My parents' room and the one I shared with my sister were on the top floor," the star says. "There are no doors on any of the bedrooms. My parents could hear everything me and my sister said growing up. And I heard them too!"
Not that she's traumatized. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Lady Gaga to Play Amy Winehouse in Biopic?
Amy Winehouse's life, while tragic, would make an amazing movie.
The rise to stardom, the drugs, the disaster that is Blake Fielder-Civil, the late night melees and most of all the music ... it'd be brilliant if the right woman played her.
Rumors are swirling that Lady Gaga herself covets that very role. And better yet, Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, supposedly gave his stamp of approval on the casting:
"I have heard Lady Gaga is keen to play Amy in a film," the elder Winehouse is quoted as telling the U.K.'s Mirror. "I don't know what her English accent is like."
"It's not just an English accent she would have to perfect - it's an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practicing now. But she would be great."
When this triggered a firestorm of speculation, Mitch later walked it back.
"I never said Lady Gaga will play Amy in film," Mitch himself Tweeted, later claiming that his daughter's story "will never be told in film," and adding: "It would hardly be a biopic without the music and we'd never allow the songs to be released."
Really? Not even a few years down the line? It'd be great, Mitch. Think about it. Speaking of Winehouse's music, her new album was released last week.

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney: The PDA-Fest!
Lady Gaga made some morose comments about her past relationships the other day, but it looks like her budding romance with Taylor Kinney is in full swing.
The singer and her buzzed-about new beau were spotted sharing some backstage PDA at the KIIS-FM Jingle Ball at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre, according to People.
The two kept their hands to themselves in public, but they were spotted embracing in the privacy of the hallway backstage. Looks like Gaga's got a keeper ...
The couple met on the set of her "You and I" music video in Nebraska, and - despite her claims that it's not serious - they have been inseparable ever since.
While some of the actor's Vampire Diaries co-stars were also at the show, and even walked the red carpet, he stuck by Gaga for her headlining performance.
Onlookers later spotted the two holding hands and acting like a couple.
A cute couple, albeit an unlikely one, to say the least ...

Lady Gaga "Marry the Night" Video: Released, Epic!
Lady Gaga's 13-minute self-directorial music video triumph, "Marry the Night," has finally been unveiled. Part autobiographical and ALL spectacle, it's a music video event not to be missed ... if you have that long to sit and watch it of course.
Without further delay, we present the Mother Monster's masterpiece:
Leave it to Gaga to live up to her own hype and then some, right?
With this mammoth undertaking, she proves that no matter what you might think of her music, she doesn't lack for creativity, originality and painstaking effort.
She's the hardest working woman in showbiz, and throughout "Marry the Night," Gaga pays homage to her journey to the top with some interesting symbolism.
Making good on the Girl, Interrupted-style sneak peek, the singer is rolled through a mental ward and medicated, only to declare she would "do it all again."
Walking the line between funny, savage and brutally honest, in typical Gaga fashion, she calls the video an "insight into my entire creative process." Amen.

Lady Gaga Covers Vanity Fair, Reflects on Relationships Past
The incomparable Lady Gaga opens up to Vanity Fair about some of the relationships that have gone wrong for her in the past, as well as what it's like to give her all on stage.
"When I'm performing, I'm so giving, so open and myself," says the hardest working woman in showbiz. "When the spotlight's off, I don't know quite what to do with myself."
The singer, who's dating Taylor Kinney now, doesn't always look back positively on some of her previous flings. She tells VF in its January 2012 cover story:
"I have this effect on people where it starts out good," Gaga admits, ominously.
"Then, when I'm in these relationships with people who are also creative, or creative in their own way, what happens is the attraction is initially there and it's all just unicorns and rainbows. And then they hate me."
"I have never felt truly cherished by a lover," the 25-year-old admits. "I have an inability to know what happiness feels like with a man."

A Very Gaga Thanksgiving Promo: Celebrate the Holidays With Deep Fried Waffles!
As we told you earlier, ABC will be celebrating Thanksgiving this year with "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving," a 90-minute special hosted by the Mother Monster tomorrow night.
The first promos for the special - conceived, starring and directed by Gaga herself - will show a different side of the typically bombastic provocateur and chanteuse.
Her special will be lighter on shocking outfits (relatively speaking) and elaborate stage performances and heavy on heart. There will even be some cooking involved.
Lady Gaga will duet with 85-year-old Tony Bennett, give a tearful interview with Katie Couric and learning to make deep-fried turkey and waffles with chef Art Smith.
